You can always take things to another level: if you live in the southern hemisphere for one half of the year and then live in the northern hemisphere for the other, then winter will never catch up with you, right?

The largest city in South Africa and also its capital is Johannesburg, which is a very interesting place. Wide avenues, rosy sunsets and a vibrant city life… There is not better place for a winter holiday.
Here, you may still have to wear a light jacket if you visit during the winter, but the sun will heat you up as you take in the sights. However, if you’re coming from the northern hemisphere, you will be able to enjoy the hot summer you’ve been longing for in this very expressive city.

Right, the temperature doesn’t go up that much during its winter in the northern hemisphere. However, Arizona is famous for its picturesque Old West landscapes and it’s a great destination to chase the sun. While most of the USA is buried under snow, in this city the weather is just right. It rains very little too.
In Phoenix and its surrounding areas you will be able to enjoy the desert with its cactuses and palm trees. It is worth visiting the Desert Botanical Garden before riding a hot air balloon over the orange mountains of Arizona.

Now we’re talking. The Fiji islands are situated in the South Pacific and are the perfect spot to pretend like winter does not exist. Paradisiac beaches, turquoise waters, palm leaves fluttering in the warm breeze… You can bet that your folks at home in coats and gloves will unfollow you on social media.
This archipelago belonging to Oceania has over 300 islands. The main islands, where most of its population live, are Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, where its capital sits, Suva.

If you’re travelling from the northern hemisphere to Brazil in, let’s say, february, you will be able to enjoy the Brazilian Carnaval in the middle of the summer. Even so, the average temperature in winter here is about 25º.
Rio de Janeiro is the city of many a traveller’s dreams, especially those who are on track to escape winter. Don’t forget to visit Copacabana Beach, one of the most famous in the world with its pearl white sands and the major seaside avenue, Avenida Atlântica, separating the beach from the tall buildings of the city.
